Who runs and manages Spotcrime.net?

Spotcrime is developed, managed and run by nHabit, an independent software development company with a strong belief in collaboration, the neighbourhood and the ability of the internet to help in re-connecting people with their own local realities. nHabit is an organisation that cares about real communities and is convinced that through intelligent use of technology and the Internet it can help to facilitate a greater sense of friendliness and neighbourliness and to bring people together in the real world.

For the technical people out there, and people who might just be interested, we will mention the words and phrases: AJAX, Google Maps API, Ruby on Rails, Open Source. And we offer thanks to all those trailblazers who have prised open doors, those plug-in and library authors who have made things so much easier for us, and those application developers who have exposed the insides of things to help some of us mere mortals develop our applications for you.

We are be applying for funding in the form of investment and grants.

We are expecting to implement some form of advertising revenue system if and when we see it as necessary. We will attempt to make this as unobtrusive, but relevant, as possible.
